Other Ways Your Donations Can Have a Huge Impact

The Kidney Foundation of Central Pennsylvania relies profoundly on the generosity of our dedicated volunteers. Thanks to individuals who freely donate their time and skills, we are able to maintain a vital presence at numerous community events across our expansive twenty-eight county region. Every hour contributed directly strengthens our mission, allowing us to reach more people and provide crucial support where it's needed most.
Volunteering with KFCP offers diverse opportunities, ranging from assisting at our signature events to participating in broader community initiatives. These roles are essential in helping us connect with patients, families, and the public, spreading awareness and offering hope.
Supporting Community Events
Throughout the year, KFCP participates in and hosts various events that thrive on volunteer support. For example, in January, volunteers are crucial for staffing coat check tables at the PA Auto Show, ensuring a smooth experience for attendees. March brings National Kidney Month and World Kidney Day, offering opportunities to help raise awareness. In May, the Highmark Walk for Healthy Community at HACC benefits greatly from volunteers who assist with logistics and cheer on participants. Our Annual KFCP Golf Tournament in September/October and Elegant Progressions in November/December also depend on volunteer assistance for their success, from registration to event flow.
Behind the Scenes Contributions
Beyond large-scale events, many vital contributions happen behind the scenes. Throughout the year, we have ongoing clerical and office projects that require diligent volunteers for tasks such as data entry, preparing mailings, or organizing materials. These administrative roles are fundamental to the smooth operation of our programs and services, ensuring that our outreach efforts are efficient and impactful.
Diverse Ways to Give Back
Volunteers also play a key role in our community outreach efforts, assisting at health fairs and senior expos. Here, they help distribute educational materials, answer general questions, and connect individuals with resources. Whether you have a few hours to spare for a specific event or prefer consistent, ongoing tasks, there are many ways to contribute your time and talents. Your involvement directly translates into tangible support for kidney patients and their families, helping to transform lives and build a healthier community.
