Patient Emergency Assistance Fund Services

The Kidney Foundation of Central Pennsylvania’s Patient Emergency Assistance Fund (PEAF) is an integral part of our organizational mission to help people whose lives are impacted by kidney disease. The PEAF provides cash assistance for food, medicine and other incidental expenses and is available for qualifying patients receiving dialysis treatment.

The KFCP is one of only a few organizations continuing to provide Social Workers in our region with monetary resources to assist dialysis patients with their day-to-day emergency financial needs. Requests for assistance are communicated through Social Workers at the dialysis center or transplant centers in our 28-county region.

We are happy to be able to support efforts to help patients who find themselves in tough financial situations. Money received from memorial gifts, individual and corporate donations, and KFCP fundraising events like the Highmark Walk for a Healthy Community and our annual Golf Tournament all help sustain the Patient Emergency Assistance Fund. Distributions from this fund are subject to availability, and program guidelines are strictly enforced.
